Cypress x Rusko

It seems Rusko has been very busy, doing an intriguing collaboration with Cypress Hill; aptly titled Cypress x Rusko. Sadly we’re going to have to wait until June 4th/5th to get a hold of the whole EP but there’s a couple of the tracks available now in sweet 320. Check out the YouTube clips and then get your hands on them below, you’re sure to be impressed!

Justice has been served!

The Justice cross

J U S T I C E needs no introduction, the above image should at least ring a bell in all of your minds…if not, please educate yourselves.

These French music prodigies have gone down a different, yet personally welcomed, path with their latest productions. Justice have transformed their sound into much more of a rock-electro vibe; the emphasis on the rock genre by its precedence. I’m yet to have the pleasure of seeing Justice perform live but that will soon be fulfilled when they bring in the New Year during the Summadayze Music festival.

Get your hands on the tracks below!

> Justice – Newlands [320kbps Mediafire Download]

> Justice – Canon [320kbps Mediafire Download]

Enjoy,

Matt.

Porter Robinson’s Spitfire EP

Porter Robinson from Chapel Hill, NC, United States at only 19 years old is producing some serious electro house bangers. He’s just been signed to Skirllex’s new label Owsla and Skrillex has been promoting the hell out of him. A post from Skrillex’s Facebook;

Today is pretty sentimental for me. It was only about a year ago when mau5 took me under his ears and signed me to mau5trap. Feels amazing to do the same with somebody who I believe in so much. So PLEASE support Porter Robinson and buy his Spitfire EP that just came out today on my new label Owsla. Never been so proud in my life! http://www.beatport.com/release/spitfire/674313 ♥ Skril

If Skrillex’s stamp of approval isn’t enough for you, Filthy Beats highly recommends the below EP also.

Meet Butch Clancy

Butch Clancy

I’m not sure how I’ve not come across Butch Clancy before now but I’m damn glad that’s changed! There are two words that keep coming to mind and fruition when listening through Butch Clancy’s tracks – JAW DROPPING. Luckily I listened to these tracks alone…I must have looked shocked at every drop. Blending uplifting synths with perfect timing and pure grime, Butch Clancy is a perfect way to start the weekend, or anything in my opinion :) .

Butch Clancy is from Detroit, United States and according to his SoundCloud page, “My aim is to make all different genres and try to take them to a new place. I try and make music that you feel, music that will give you a tingle down your spine.” I can attest to the truth of the statement, give the below a good listen and I reckon you will too!

Lookout, its Gypsy Music!

I feel I should apologise to Gypsy music and everyone else who’s been sending in tracks; I’ve been in hibernation for the Australian Winter.

Anyways, best late than never….

Gypsy Music is a collaboration between the minds of Bad Angle and Slim Tyrant from Miami, United States. These boys have joined forces, creating some very interesting sounds; delving into house, tech-house, electro and even dubstep. House / Tech-House is something we don’t feature very often on here but I’m hoping continued releases of such quality from Gypsy will skew that more in the house lovers favor. The first selection of tracks on offer – Phase One - contains what I define as a perfect drop (~1min 40sec) and a drop which made me grin from ear to ear as I turned the volume up higher and higher.

I’ve been listening to the below selection on repeat tonight, I suggest you create a playlist and give them a solid listen also.  Get your mittens on them below kids…

The smoothness that is Azedia

We covered Azedia back in February with our Introducing Azedia post and I’m pleased to be able to share with you what only 614 people have watched on YouTube. I’m shocked the views are so low still after months since release, people don’t know what they’re missing.

Azedia released their ‘first, finished original track’ according to the SoundCloud page for the track entitled ‘Fall Below’. Fall Below is a journey through sound and the accompanying video is just plain awesome; they’ve used the Apollo 11 Ultra Slow Motion 16mm HD launch video from 1969. I recommend, in fact I instruct you to watch the below in 1080p (available…from 1969) with the volume up full. For those of you who are impatient, you can skip through to ~4m 10sec for the full depth of the audio but I strongly discourage it.

Go on, go watch it! Then grab it in 320kbps a bit further down…

Introducing Funkanomics

Funkanomics. Get it into your head, its a name I think you’ll be scouring the internets just to get a sneak peek at their next genius creation.

I came across this trio of funk and bass whilst aimlessly browsing around SoundCloud some months back. Funkanomics is the work of three gents from Germany who work under the aliases of Juwee, FxFarmer and Bobby Kudlicz. These guys started out in late 2006 and have wasted no time – between touring clubs and producing some of the most spot on remixes I’ve heard in years – they’ve made quite a name for themselves! I can only apologize for not sharing these salacious sounds with you sooner, download them all as you’re unlikely to find these available elsewhere in such quality.

I guess the best way to describe what Funkanomics to do an old, classic tune is to inject a punchy bass kick, and their own recipe for funk resulting in pure heaven for the ears – If I haven’t talked them up enough by now then fuck me… Let’s just say if you’re sitting still and not swaying even the slightest bit to these tracks, you don’t know what funk is.

Albanians don’t have much love for Filthy Beats

Well, my laziness finally caught up with me as on the 1st of September, filthybeats.net was hacked and defaced by an Albanian group who work under the moniker of Kosova Security Group; specifically Ma1ac.

I feel it only fair to give credit where credit is due and thank the Kosova Security Group for causing me to get off my lazy ass and do what I’ve been meaning to do for so long – move all my domains to my own VPS solution and secure them myself – then I only have myself to blame if a breach occurs again.

So as this is the first post in months…not about music at all, expect more to come and quickly at that. Keep your eyes on this space! :)

Peo de Pitte.

Peo de pitte

It was not until recently that I stumbled upon Swedish born, now UK based producer Peo de Pitte. The man is having huge success touring internationally, also with his label FlatOut Records and remixes out on Global Underground, Fingerlickin’ and Champion Records. Peo de Pitte’s sound is rather diverse, using some pretty interesting synth’s and big drums to create a distinct dance class of his own. It comes as no surprise then why big acts like Afrojack, Crookers, Groove Armada, Sinden, Kissy Sell Out and Elite Force to name a few are jumping at a chance to work with him. His original ‘Burning Up’ off an EP of the same title features on the Stanton Warriors live mix that was posted back in February on filthybeats.net and I would seriously recommend getting it off Beatport or check out the teaser below.

The remix of Will Bailey’s Expander is a mutilated acid take on the original, tweak the dBees up for it, you will not be disappointed. I am pretty excited to be going to see this guy on Thursday night in Adelaide! I’m not really sure how it will sit on a 7am departure time Friday morning but I do know I am going to enjoy it!
